Cocaine is an extremely addictive stimulant that affects the brain directly. Cocaine is a white powder which is chopped up into fine lines using a razor blade and then snorted up the nose. Sometimes it is heated up and injected with a needle and a syringe.

Any way you consume it, it can make your body absorb toxic amount of this drug, causing severe cardiovascular or brain emergencies. The continuous use of cocaine, in any form, can cause addiction and other unhealthy consequences.

What are the effects of cocaine?

The effects of cocaine are presented almost immediately after you consume it and disappears in minutes or hours. People that use cocaine feel a rush of excitement, a sense of confidence; they get active, talkative and mentally agile, especially in relation with the sense of sight, hearing and tact. Cocaine also diminishes the desire of eating and sleeping.

A lot of cocaine makes you restless and paranoid, and you might even have hallucinations. Very large amounts can be fatal. Big doses of cocaine can produce death. Cocaine related deaths are because of cardio-respiratory problems or convulsions.  Cocaine is very addictive and when you become a regular user you can be mentally and physically dependent on the drug and have to take larger amounts to get the same effect from it. Repeated sniffing damages your nostrils. Too much cocaine can lead to breathing problems or even heart failure. If you inject it with a needle that's already been used by somebody, else you run the risk of catching diseases such as HIV, which can lead to AIDS.
