NICARAGUA

Juan José Rodríguez High School

This public school serves over 2000 high school students from 9th to 11th grade.  It is located in Jinotepe a largely rural region. TeenSmart has provided services to JJR for the past 3 years.  This school has a strong principal and a committed staff of teachers. It has an Aulanet with 15 computers provided by Foundation Uno.

Cruz Roja Rivas

This is a community center in the department of Rivas in Southwest Nicaragua .  It has an Aulanet of 20 computers and serves both street youth as well as receives students from 9 feeder schools.  It has a strong leader.  The challenges are outreach to teens as well as consistent electricity.

Ramírez Goyena High School

This is one of the oldest public high schools in Managua serving over 1000 teens in grades 9 through 11. It has an Aulanet with 20 computers. This urban inner city school is located in a region where violence an other social problems are very common. Due to governmental changes they haven’t have internet access during the year. TSI program activities have had to be provided manually.

Maestro Gabriel High School

This inner city public high school in Managua serves over 1000 students in grades 9 through 11. It is located in a region where violence and other social problems are very common. Due to governmental changes they haven’t have internet access during the year. TSI program activities have had to be provided manually.

PROVADENIC

This faith-based Protestant non for profit provides preventive and primary health care to remote rural areas where there are no government health services available. Currently TSI tools are being used in the development of 32 Adolescent Health Clubs in the northwestern region of Nicaragua under the auspices of PROVADENIC. The TSI program is a manual program, as these communities by and large do not have electricity. 


COSTA RICA

AOES (Asociación Obras del Espíritu Santo)

This is a faith-base Catholic community center located in one of the poorest urban  barrios of south San José.   It serves over 500 teens and their families. TSI provides services in a rehabilitated Computer Laboratory Bus with 10 computers.  This program has strong administrative and youth involvement and support.

Asociación Roble Alto

This faith-based Protestant non profit association funded in 1932 provides residential care and/or day care to over 600 children from approximately 9 months of age to 13 years for some of the poorest families in Costa Rica .  TSI works with them in three of their programs: Enrique Strachan Elementary School ,  Manantial Elementary Daycare, and PROAA (Program of attention to adolescence). 

ASEMECO,  Escazú

This is a public Health Care Center which provides universal primary health care to the community of Escazú in partnership with HBC (Hospital Clínica Bíblica). Efforts are underway to integrate TSI Youth Health Surveys as a means for providing community-based adolescent health statistics.  Training of school teachers and health professionals has been a first step. 

Fundación PANIAMOR, Clubhouse and Technobus

PANIAMOR is Costa Rican non for profit foundation serving inner city teens and advocating for the legal rights of children throughout Costa Rica .

Clubhouse
It is a project developed in partnership with the local government. Their goal it is to increase safe recreational places for minority teens.

"Acompañando sus pasos  hacia el desarrollo" (Accompanying her steps towards development)
Project based in Santa Ana canton which seeks to promote opportunities in and adolescents in relation to the acquisition of tools that enable young employability.

Colegio Monterrey
Colegio Monterrey is a private Christian school, recognized by the Public Education Ministry (M.E.P) of Costa Rica and affiliated to the Association of Private Schools of Costa Rica (ACEP), whose purpose is to contribute to the development of children and teenagers from preschool level to high school.
